Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vintage 2000

Our vintages : Châteauneuf du Pape

The AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of the most beautiful in the Rhone Valley. It is famous for its red wines but also offers very nice white wines. Quality has no price! This is why on each vintage all the grape varieties planted in our plots allow us to best express the terroir that is ours.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape White 2000: Golden yellow color with some green reflections. The nose begins to evolve towards aromas of beeswax, candied lemon. The palate is always fresh, with an attack on honeyed notes. These wines start to close on a citrus zest. To drink on early 2003 or wait until 2006 to find their fullness.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red 2000: Ruby, garnet-colored, Châteauneuf-du-Pape red 2000 are characterized by nose of red fruits (raspberry jam) and cherries with brandy, demonstrating the high quality of this vintage which fits into a series of four very beautiful years. Notes of thyme and rosemary complement these wines with a round attack, with assagis tannins, which remain on the fruit while evolving slightly towards wild expressions. The finish reveals pear to wine tastes.

On the special vintages in 2000, we find wines with iodized aromas with animal notes (leather), a lot of maturity (prune). On the palate, the wines have an important tannic structure, and even though they are still on the fruit, they are wines that will only start to flourish from 2005 or even 2008.
