Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vintage 1996

Our vintages : Châteauneuf du Pape

The AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of the most beautiful in the Rhone Valley. It is famous for its red wines but also offers very nice white wines. Quality has no price! This is why on each vintage all the grape varieties planted in our plots allow us to best express the terroir that is ours.

The first fifteen days of September 1996 were marked by the uninterrupted breath of the Mistral. A godsend for the winemakers who were able to start harvesting their plots according to their optimal maturity and continue in good conditions.

Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc 1996: Fruit and Ageing: Of a rather pale colour, these wines have a tangy nose with aromas of white flowers. The attack is supple, fruity. The mouth is greasy, full. Very pleasant today, the 96 whites have no less a potential of keeping. They can ideally accompany fish and crustaceans.

Châteauneuf du Pape rouge 1996: Spices and velvet: The Châteauneuf du Pape red 96 have complex aromas where chocolate notes follow the perfumes of garrigues and cherries with brandy. These wines come from harvest at good maturity and are very homogeneous, with well-melted tannins. Spicy flavors (black pepper) and liquorice blend elegantly in these ample and velvety wines.
