I'm hoping I caught this sample on a bad day, as Brunel's 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape wasn't offering much charm on this occasion. Lightly textured and moderately concentrated, with notes of garrigue, spice and peppery herbs, it has bright acidity and firm tannin. This estate is normally extremely consistent, so I'd expect this to show better next year.
