I was able to taste through 4 different samples of André’s 2011 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with each showing plenty of texture, depth and richness. The odds are that there will not be a Centenaire, so this cuvee should benefit from the inclusion of the old vine Grenache from the Farguerol lieu-dit, which was easily my favorite. All of the samplespossessed perfumed, Provencal aromatics, medium to full-body, and the upfront suppleness of the vintage. The base cuvee will most likely be an outstanding wine that will be approachable on release, yet age surprisingly well given its overall balance and harmony.
