Still deeply coloured. On the nose this is very evolved, with plenty of liquorice and lapsang souchong tea. It's a little balsamic too, with notes of sweet decay. Powerful on the palate, mouthcoating tannins with a little juiciness to them, intense and driving - crying out for a well-aged steak. This is doing exactly what you'd hope a fully mature top vintage of Châteauneuf-du-Pape to do.
