Much paler in colour than the dark 1998. It has an appealing touch of minty spice on the nose, and smoky fireworks. Very fine and elegant still, shapely and tapered with silky tannins, a touch of orange peel on the palate and some length still. An old wine, but still with plenty of pleasure and interest. Time to drink up.
